Coastal GasLink, together with its workers, contractors, indigenous and local communities, have made history by completing Canada’s first pipeline to the west coast in over 70 years, with one of the best safety records in the industry.
Alkoomi are privileged and proud to have been part of the project’s five-year construction journey.
Our consultants have been delivering interactive safety focused workshops to all levels of personnel along the length of the Coastal GasLink pipeline, including some 150 on-site workshops with supervision and trades; the feedback below sums up the thoughts of those who attended these sessions:
“It’s given me the courage to speak more from the heart (to make it personal) and promote a positive safety culture, not just today but every day – commitment and engagement.”
“Thank you 😊 More of this type of approach is what breaks down barriers – continue to make safety personal, important and relevant such that it impacts the choices we make.”
“The workshop has taught and reinforced the internal feelings I’ve had throughout my career and moving into supervision about “being the boss everyone wants to work for”.
“I think emphasis on the relationship and bonding that can take place through skills and practices taught here will immensely improve overall moral, production and safety.”
“It helps understand the importance to develop leadership skills. I have great relationships with my coworkers and will now want to further impact them on why it is so important to be due diligent and safe.”
“It helped me understand that safety begins with me. I see it, I own it.”
Coastal GasLink’s team is now in the field completing pipeline commissioning activities to be ready to deliver gas to the LNG Canada facility, Kitimat.
Coastal GasLink will continue to be a part of the local community as it prepares for safe operations for decades to come.
