In February 2023, construction on Coastal GasLink surpassed 84% overall completion, keeping the project on track to complete Canada’s first direct path to delivering LNG to global markets by the end of 2023. There were 5,763 workers across the project since the start of the year.
It’s been a particularly snowy winter in northern British Columbia, which means avalanche risk prevention and mitigation is top of mind for crews working on steep slopes. Across the project route, Field Avalanche Technicians monitor snow levels and temperature daily and test the stability of the snowpack to determine if it’s safe for crews to proceed.
